Rue de l'Hôpital Militaire, a short walk from Place Rihour, Banana Drama Café is a city-centre café with a terrace, wifi and homemade treats. Open every day from 10am to 6:30pm, weekends included.

How to work well on a terrace in Lille

Three rules specific to the North:

  • Lille weather is unpredictable. A May shower is almost guaranteed. Prioritise covered terraces or ones with easy access back inside.
  • The northern wind can blow hard. If you're working on a terrace, have something to weigh your papers down, and don't underestimate the chill in the morning and evening.
  • The terrace season is short. Make the most of May-June and September, which are the most stable months. July-August is more unpredictable.
