Bastia is more than its old port and sea-facing terraces. As the economic capital of Corsica, it's a city that works, and where you sometimes need to set up your laptop somewhere other than home: Corsican freelancer, remote employee, or traveler between two ferries. Let's be honest, the offering dedicated to remote work is still limited, but we've found two solid addresses, one paid and professional, the other free and friendly. Enough to get things done in peace with wifi, whatever your budget.
We relied on the recommendations of the Bastia Tourist Office for this selection.
La Chapelle
At the Capanelle convent, route de Ville, La Chapelle is a coworking space with an open space and private offices. The big plus for nomads: day access (rate on its website), with no subscription, ideal when you just want a real day of quiet work without committing. A calm setting, in the professional spirit of a coworking space. A safe bet for the days when you really need to make progress.
The spot for a serious day of work, with no subscription.
L'Appuntu
Right in the center, rue des Mulets, L'Appuntu is a social and digital space run by the FALEP association. It offers computers with free access, a digital advisor and, above all, a friendly corner to sit down over a coffee. The atmosphere is more that of a neighborhood place than a coworking space, but it's free, central and quiet: perfect for setting up your laptop for an hour or two without spending a cent. Open on weekdays.
The free tip for a short session downtown.
Just passing through Bastia?
Bastia is a gateway to Corsica: lots of people transit through the port or the Poretta airport. If you arrive with your laptop and a few hours ahead of you before a ferry or a meeting, the city center concentrates our two addresses, a few minutes' walk from each other. Enough to turn waiting time into a real work session.
