Toulon is the city that welcomes you with the harbour as a backdrop, palm trees along the port, and that Mediterranean light that makes you forget you're supposed to be working. Between le Mourillon, the city centre in the midst of change, and the quartier des Arts gaining momentum, the Var prefecture is no longer just a navy town for retirees. Remote workers and freelances are moving here for the sun, a reasonable cost of living compared to Nice or Marseille, and a pace that leaves room for life. But finding a good spot to set up your laptop is still a challenge — Toulon isn't (yet) Lyon or Bordeaux when it comes to coworking options.

We toured the city to find you the best places to get work done. Here's our selection of 8 spots, from structured coworking spaces to neighbourhood cafés.

L'Archipel

Rue Chevalier Paul, in the city centre. L'Archipel is the go-to coworking spot in Toulon. A collaborative ecosystem with flexible spaces, atypical meeting rooms, and a vibe that encourages connection without sacrificing quiet. The place is bright, well laid out, and you can tell it was designed by people who actually work there. The large tables are comfortable, the chairs hold up for a full day, and the collective energy is real.

Reliable Wi-Fi, power outlets everywhere, and the option to eat on site. Open Monday to Friday, 8:30am–6pm. Closed at weekends. This is the place you keep coming back to once you've realised working alone at home doesn't work for you.

The go-to spot for remote workers who want a professional setting and a community.

Café Culture

Rue Paul Lendrin, on the Petit Cours Lafayette. A community café with character and convictions. The atmosphere is calm, a little bohemian, with a pleasant terrace in good weather. You grab a coffee, a bite to eat, and you work in a relaxed setting. The place runs at the rhythm of its cultural activities, which gives it a little something extra you won't find in a regular café.

Wi-Fi available (though occasionally patchy, according to feedback), and prices are gentle. Open Tuesday to Saturday, with a break from 1pm to 2pm. Closed Monday and Sunday. It's the kind of address you adopt for quiet mornings with a good coffee and a project to move forward.

A community café with soul for quiet work sessions.

Dégus'Thé

Rue Pierre Semard, in the centre. Dégus'Thé is a soft, welcoming tea room with décor that celebrates books. The atmosphere is hushed, almost cosy, and the menu offers vegan options that make a nice change from the endless croque-monsieurs. You settle in for a late brunch or an afternoon snack, and the calm of the place naturally invites you to pull out your laptop.

The space is pleasant for working, especially if you're looking for a relaxed setting. Open every day from 11am to 5pm (10am–2pm on Sundays). The hours are a little short for a full day, but for a 3–4 hour session in a cosy setting, it's great.

TVT Innovation

Place Georges Pompidou, inside the Mayol shopping centre. TVT is the largest coworking space in Toulon, with a startup vibe and professional equipment. Large tables, fast Wi-Fi, plenty of power outlets — everything you need to work efficiently is here. Being inside a shopping centre is a practical advantage (shops, restaurants, services right at hand), even if the setting lacks the charm of a neighbourhood café. Open Monday to Friday, 7:30am–6pm. The early opening at 7:30am is a real bonus for early risers who want to get started before everyone else. Closed at weekends.

The high-capacity coworking space for intense days, with everything within reach.

Port des Créateurs

Place des Savonnières, in the quartier des Arts. A community space dedicated to creatives and cultural project-holders. Port des Créateurs blends workspace and artistic life, in a neighbourhood that's gaining more and more colour. The vibe is inspiring, the place is lively, and you'll rub shoulders with varied profiles: artists, designers, photographers, videographers.

Wi-Fi available, accessible power outlets. Open Monday to Friday, 9am–6pm. If you work in a creative field, this is probably the place in Toulon that will suit you best. The informal exchanges between residents are a bonus you won't find in a regular coworking space.

The creatives' hangout, in a neighbourhood that's moving and inspiring.

Columbus Café Co

Place Pierre Puget, right in the centre. A reliable chain spot that works well for occasional remote work. The atmosphere is calm and clean, the coffee is decent, and the homemade sandwiches are handy for lunch. The tables are large enough to set up a laptop, and the noise level stays reasonable. Open Monday to Saturday, 8am–6:30pm. Closed Sunday. Note: laptops are not allowed on Saturdays, so this is strictly a weekday spot. For the rest, it's a dependable option when you want a quick coffee and a table to get a project moving.

The reliable fallback in the city centre for weekday work sessions.

For the rest, the city centre cafés get the job done when you just need a change of scenery.
