Nice is the kind of city where morning light streams through the windows of Vieux-Nice cafés and makes you feel like working could pass for a holiday. Between the pedestrian lanes behind the port, the wide avenues of the centre, and the station neighbourhood slowly transforming, the city hides addresses designed for people who work away from home. Whether you're a freelance between projects on the Côte d'Azur, a remote worker who wants to enjoy the Mediterranean sun without sacrificing productivity, or simply someone looking for decent Wi-Fi and good light — Nice has what you need.

What strikes you here is the contrast between the seaside resort image and the real lives of people who work here every day. Behind the Promenade des Anglais and the tourist terraces, there's a network of cafés, coworking spaces and community spaces that welcome laptops without batting an eye. Nice is attracting more and more remote workers drawn by the climate, the quality of life, and prices that are (still) reasonable compared to Paris. The Vieux-Nice, the port neighbourhood, the centre around the station — each corner has its own addresses and atmosphere. We walked the neighbourhoods, tested the connections, tracked down the power outlets, and above all identified the places where you can set up your laptop for the day without anyone giving you side-eyes. Here are our 10 favourite spots, from intimate coffee shops to well-equipped coworking spaces.

Brume Coffee Nice

Rue Pairolière, right in the heart of the Vieux-Nice. You push the door open and step into a world apart: pale walls, natural light falling just right, and that smell of fresh coffee that puts you in a good mood immediately. Brume Coffee is the kind of address that regulars whisper about quietly, like a secret they'd rather keep to themselves. The décor is pared back, the tables are well spaced, and the noise level stays low — exactly what you need to focus without feeling like you're in a bunker.

On the work front, it's solid: free, reliable Wi-Fi, and the place is clearly set up for people who come with their laptop. The menu is short but good, enough to keep you going through a morning or afternoon. Ly.South, Nice Shopping and Medium have all recommended it. Watch the slightly unusual hours: open Wednesday to Sunday from 10:15 to 17:45, closed Monday and Tuesday. It's clearly a mid-week or weekend spot, not a go-to for Monday mornings.

Our favourite for focused work sessions in a genuinely charming setting.

La Popote d'Ondine

Rue Gioffredo, in the centre of Nice, a few streets from Place Masséna. La Popote d'Ondine is a warm café-restaurant where you feel at ease the moment you sit down. The atmosphere is bright and lively, with a thoughtful décor that mixes raw and cosy. The tables are big enough to set up your laptop, your notes, and your coffee without playing Tetris. There's that neighbourhood canteen feel that puts you at ease — the kind of energy that keeps people coming back week after week.

The big plus: you can eat lunch without moving from your seat, and the menu is genuinely good — brunch, lunch, it's all there. Free Wi-Fi, calm atmosphere outside the lunchtime rush, and a welcome that doesn't frown at laptops. Ly.South. Open Monday to Saturday from 9:00 to 18:00, closed Sunday. The opening hours are fair and the Monday-to-Saturday consistency makes it a good go-to for a weekly routine.

The ideal spot if you want to combine a solid work session with a proper lunch without changing venues.

Le LABO Coworking

Rue du Congrès, a short walk from Nice-Ville station and the city centre. If you're looking for a structured, well-equipped, professional coworking space, Le LABO ticks every box. The place is designed from top to bottom for work: private offices, shared areas, and that productive atmosphere you find in spaces where everyone is there to get things done. The furniture is good, the chairs are comfortable for full days (your back will thank you), and the spaces are well laid out for alternating between focused work and conversations.

Fast Wi-Fi, power outlets everywhere, and all the professional equipment you need — printer, meeting rooms, the full package. It's the kind of space where you can meet a client for a proper meeting without having to book an overpriced serviced office. Open Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 19:00, closed at weekends. The location near the station is a real asset if you're commuting by regional train along the coast or want somewhere accessible by tram. It's the kind of place that puts you in productive mode the moment you walk through the door, without the sterile feel of large chains.

For days when you need structure, equipment, and a fully professional setting.

Full Bloom Café

Rue Emmanuel Philibert, in the port neighbourhood. Full Bloom is one of those bright cafés where the plant-filled décor and light tones create a soothing atmosphere. The room is bathed in natural light, plants are everywhere, and it feels a little like a cosy urban greenhouse. It's pretty, it's calm, and it makes you want to settle in for the morning with a good coffee and a file to wrap up. The tables are well sized and the furniture is tasteful without being showy.

Free Wi-Fi, drinks and snacks — the essentials are covered. The hours are well thought out: open every day, from 8:30 to 17:00 on weekdays and until 18:00 at weekends. It's one of the few spots in this selection open 7 days a week, making it a reliable option whatever your week looks like. The port neighbourhood is pleasant for a lunch break on the terrace between sessions.

The spot for productive mornings in a bright, peaceful setting — weekends included. If you're a freelance who likes working on Saturday mornings in peace, this is probably your best option in Nice.

Frisson

Rue Francis Gallo, in the port neighbourhood, not far from the Vieux-Nice. Frisson is the kind of address that makes you smile the moment you walk in. The place is small, refined, with attention to detail you can feel in every corner — the décor, the crockery, the welcome. There's an artisanal, sincere quality that makes all the difference. The light is soft, the coffee is excellent, and the atmosphere naturally invites calm. It's the kind of spot where you set up your laptop, order, and forget the rest for a couple of hours.

Wi-Fi available, calm and welcoming for laptops. With a high rating, Frisson is simply one of the best-rated cafés in Nice — and you can see why. Open Wednesday to Sunday from 10:00 to 18:00, closed Monday and Tuesday. The window is fine for a solid afternoon or late morning session. One caveat: the space is intimate, so it's better to go outside peak hours if you want to be sure of a seat.

Our favourite for working in a beautiful setting with coffee that's worth the trip.

Sundesk Nice

Chemin de l'Arénas, on the western side of Nice, near the airport. Sundesk is a coworking space that owns its rock-and-roll side — 1,000 m² of modular, light-filled space with a friendly atmosphere that breaks the cold feeling you sometimes find in professional spaces. The desks are well arranged, the common areas invite collaboration, and the energy of the place is driven by an active community: over 50 events a year, coworker meetups — a real hub, not just square metres to rent.

Fast Wi-Fi, power outlets everywhere, large tables for intense sessions. The 24/7 desk access is a major asset if you have irregular hours or late-night deadlines. Reception is open Tuesday to Friday, 9:00–12:00 and 14:00–18:00. Closed at weekends and on Mondays. The airport location might seem out of the way, but it's well served by tram and it's an advantage if you travel frequently.

The coworking space for those who want a professional environment with a real community and flexibility. If you've just arrived in Nice and want to build a network, this is the place to start.

La Ronronnerie

Rue de Lépante, in the Musiciens neighbourhood, between the station and the centre. La Ronronnerie is a cat café — yes, you read that right. Cats roam between the tables while you work. If you find the presence of a cat calming (and there's evidence it helps), it's a concept that works surprisingly well for getting work done. The atmosphere is soft, hushed, a little out of time. The décor is warm, the sofas are comfortable, and the purring as background noise beats any lo-fi playlist.

Free Wi-Fi, and the place is used to people who come with their laptops. Ly.South lists it among the Nice cafés to work in. Open Wednesday to Sunday from 11:30 to 19:00, closed Monday and Tuesday. La Ronronnerie attracts a varied crowd: freelances, students, curious visitors. It's better to go on a weekday early afternoon to enjoy the calm before the weekend rush.

A quirky and endearing spot for those who like working in a cosy, slightly offbeat atmosphere.

Hobo Coffee

Rue Sainte-Réparate, right in the Vieux-Nice, on one of the neighbourhood's most lively lanes. Hobo Coffee is the café that (almost) never closes. The vibe is laid-back, a bit bohemian, with that international feel you find in the Vieux-Nice. The room is pleasant, the tables are fine for setting up your laptop, and the background hum stays manageable — it's lively without being overwhelming. You're in the realm of the animated neighbourhood café, not the silent workspace. If you like having life around you when you work, this is your place.

The big draw: the hours. Open 7 days a week, from 8:30 to 22:30. You can come for a morning session and stay until the evening if the project runs over. Wi-Fi available, and the place is used to laptops. The menu is varied, enough to carry you from breakfast to dinner. The one catch is that at weekends and in the evening, the atmosphere shifts more towards bar than workspace. Aim for weekday mornings and early afternoons if you want to work in peace.

The spot for evening sessions or when you need somewhere open late, 7 days a week.

The Daily Ric

Rue de l'Hôtel des Postes, in the centre of Nice, a short walk from the station. The Daily Ric is a simple, efficient, no-frills café. The décor is relaxed, the tables are functional, and the atmosphere is that of a neighbourhood café where regulars come every morning. No flashy concept, no Instagram-bait theme — just a good coffee, Wi-Fi, and a pleasant setting for working quietly. It's the kind of address that doesn't impress at first glance but quickly becomes a ritual.

Free Wi-Fi, early hours — open from 7:30 Tuesday to Friday, making it one of the earliest spots in this selection. Perfect if you're the type who likes to attack the day at dawn with a coffee. Closing at 17:30 on weekdays, 16:00 on Saturdays, closed Sundays. It's clearly a morning and early afternoon spot, not an evening venue. The central location and proximity to the station make it a good base if you have a train to catch in the afternoon.

The smart choice for early risers who want a no-fuss café from 7:30am.
