Nanterre is the prefecture of the Hauts-de-Seine, wedged between La Défense and the mont Valérien, with its university, its neighbourhoods in full transformation and the energy of a city reinventing itself. In terms of workspace, Nanterre doesn't have Paris's density, but it makes up for it with places that have real character: a former industrial château converted into a community space, colourful and well-designed coworking spaces, and community-driven places that are as focused on social connection as they are on Wi-Fi.
The RER A and tram T2 make the city easy to reach from La Défense and Paris. We've wandered the neighbourhoods to uncover the best spots. Here's our selection of 7 addresses to get work done in Nanterre.
Work & Share Nanterre
Boulevard des Bouvets, well served by public transport. Work & Share is the go-to coworking reference in Nanterre. The space is colourful and bright, with large tables, a terrace, food service, and an atmosphere that blends friendliness and productivity. You can tell the place was designed to make you feel good: the furniture is thoughtfully chosen, the colours give you energy, and the space is large enough that you're not on top of each other.
Fast Wi-Fi, power outlets everywhere. Open Monday to Friday, 9 am–7 pm (5 pm on Fridays). The only downside is closing at weekends. But weekdays, it's flawless.
Our favourite in Nanterre for the atmosphere and equipment.
Le Château
Allée des Parfumeurs, on a converted former industrial site. Le Château is a community space that welcomes a community of social and solidarity economy players. The place has a soul: the volumes of the original building, the green spaces, and the collective energy of places where people work on projects that matter. The large tables are welcoming, the Wi-Fi holds up, and food is available on-site — recommended by Neo-Nomade, Cité ETIC, Coworking-France and Le Cercle des Dircom. Open Monday to Friday, 9 am–6 pm.
The community space with character for those who want to work in a place with history.
EVIDENSEE
Rue Lavoisier. EVIDENSEE offers nomadic hot-desking in an open space with flexible access. The space is functional, with Wi-Fi, power outlets, large tables and food service. Recommended by Neo-Nomade, Coworking-France and Worklib.
A practical coworking space for nomadic workdays.
Vive Les Groues
Rue de la Garenne, in the Groues neighbourhood going through full urban transformation. Vive Les Groues is a coworking space rooted in its neighbourhood, with a strong community and associative dimension. Wi-Fi and power outlets. The hours are generous: open 9 am to 8 pm on weekdays, until 10 pm from Wednesday to Saturday, and on Sundays from 9 am to 8 pm.
Recommended by Coworking-France. It's one of the rare spaces in Nanterre open on weekends, making it a great option for Saturday or Sunday sessions.
The weekend spot in Nanterre, with real neighbourhood life all around.
United Kitchens
Rue Becquet, on the Château de Nanterre site. United Kitchens combines a coworking space with services adapted to collaborative work. Wi-Fi, power outlets, food on-site. Open Monday to Friday, 8:30 am–6:30 pm.
A well-located spot for those already working within the Château ecosystem.
Fablab PMCLab
Boulevard de la Seine. PMCLab is a fablab and community space attached to the CESI campus. Wi-Fi, power outlets, and a maker environment for those with projects that go beyond the screen. Open Monday to Friday, 8:30 am–8 pm (7:30 pm on Fridays).
For tech and maker profiles who want a hybrid space.
FRM Domiciliation
Rue de Metz. FRM offers a registered address service with an integrated coworking space. Wi-Fi and power outlets. Open Monday to Friday, 9 am–6 pm. Recommended by Coworking-France.
Handy if you also need a business address for your activity.
