Limoges — porcelain, enamel kilns, and that Limousin way of life you'd never guess at if you've never been. The city moves at a relaxed pace, has a compact city centre you can explore on foot, and prices that make remote-working Parisians smile when they show up. Remote work is slowly but surely making its mark here: freelancers settling in for the quality of life, full-remote employees who swapped their tiny Paris flat for a house with a garden, students from the university looking for a quiet corner. The offer of work spots isn't overflowing, but it's solid.
We've done a tour of the city to find the best places to set up your laptop. Here are 6 tested and approved spots, from full coworking spaces to working cafés.
Héméra
Place Jourdan, in a 1,000 m² space that blends coworking, a café, events and a tree-lined park. Héméra is Limoges's flagship community space. You walk in and immediately understand this is no generic coworking space: it's warm, the terrace overlooks a park, and the atmosphere oscillates between focused work and friendly breaks. The workstations are thoughtfully designed, meeting rooms are available when you need them, and the on-site café means you can stay all day without moving.
Reliable Wi-Fi, accessible power outlets, a terrace for sunny breaks. Open Monday to Friday, 9am–5:30pm. Closed weekends. It's the meeting point for freelancers and remote workers in Limoges, and with good reason. If you can only try one place in Limoges, make it this one.
The go-to spot for remote workers in Limoges, with a terrace and park as a bonus.
Coworking Le Cantou
Avenue de la Révolution, slightly south of the centre. Le Cantou (the name comes from the Limousin dialect for "corner of the fire") is a warm coworking space that takes its role seriously. Flexible workstations, meeting rooms, and a pleasant setting to work at your own pace. The place is well kept, the equipment is solid, and the atmosphere is studious.
Reliable Wi-Fi, power outlets, large tables. Open Monday to Friday, 9am–6pm with a lunch break from 1pm to 2pm. Closed weekends. The slightly off-centre location can be a bonus if you're looking for quiet, or a drawback if you want to grab lunch in the centre between sessions.
A neighbourhood coworking space — warm and well-equipped — for distraction-free working days.
Coworking Le Phare
Boulevard Gambetta, right in the centre. Le Phare is a space that welcomes freelancers and independents in a modern setting with up-to-date equipment. Shared and private desks, fast Wi-Fi, and an environment designed for long working sessions. The space is well lit, the chairs are comfortable, and the atmosphere is professional without being cold. Open Monday to Friday from 9am to 6pm, and Saturday morning from 10:30am to 12:30pm. That Saturday morning opening is a nice bonus if you need to wrap something up before the weekend. Being on boulevard Gambetta puts you steps away from everything.
A central, well-equipped coworking space with a short Saturday morning window.
Work'In 87
Rue Jean Jaurès, in the city centre. Work'In 87 takes flexibility to the next level. The space is open from 6am to 10pm, 7 days a week. An early riser? Come at 6am. A night owl? Stay until 10pm. Working on Sunday? No problem. It's the only space in Limoges with these kinds of hours, and that changes everything when your schedule doesn't fit the classic 9am–6pm mould.
Reliable Wi-Fi, power outlets, large tables. The address is relatively new and is starting to get noticed. If you keep unusual hours or need weekend access, this is the only choice in Limoges.
The spot for workers with atypical hours, open 7 days a week from dawn until evening.
Café Héméra Jourdan
Same address as Héméra, Place Jourdan. Café Héméra offers a smart working café formula: unlimited Wi-Fi, unlimited hot drinks, and affordable rates for a day or a top-up card. It's the perfect option if you prefer a café atmosphere over a coworking space, with the same practical benefits. The setting is pleasant, the menu is good, and you can alternate between the café downstairs and the coworking space upstairs depending on your mood.
Same hours as Héméra: Monday to Friday, 9am–5:30pm. A great choice if you'd rather work in a café setting than an open space, while keeping unlimited Wi-Fi and drinks.
The working café formula for those who want the best of both worlds.
The right spot for your needs
- For the go-to spot — Héméra (1,000 m², terrace, park, café)
- For a coworking space in the city centre — La Giraffe
- For flexible hours — Work'In 87 (6am–10pm, 7 days a week)
- For a warm setting — Le Cantou (cosy vibe, quiet neighbourhood)
- For a working café formula — Café Héméra (Wi-Fi + unlimited drinks)
- For Saturday mornings — Le Phare (open Saturday until 12:30pm)
Limoges doesn't have the density of spots you'd find in a major city, but the places that exist are solid and thoughtfully designed. Héméra stands out as the gathering point for remote workers, with its coworking + café + terrace combo. Work'In 87 fills a gap with its ultra-flexible hours. And coworking spaces like La Giraffe, Le Cantou and Le Phare offer a professional setting for busy days. The city is moving forward, and the offer will keep growing.
