Hossegor is the town where you set up your laptop between surf sessions. Wedged between the ocean, the marine lake, and the Landes forest, it's been drawing a wave of digital nomads, freelance surfers and remote workers over the past few years — people who've figured out you can really live here. The town centre stays compact and quiet off-season, the Parc d'Activités Pédebert concentrates most of the work spots (coworking spaces, coffee shops, flexible offices), and the lakeside offers a more laid-back alternative for long sessions.

Hossegor has a quirk you won't find anywhere else in France: very few classic laptop-friendly cafés, but a wild density of coworking spaces and coliving spots aimed at digital nomads. It's a surf-and-work ecosystem that has taken shape, with places designed for people who combine remote work and waves. Seasonality is real: crowds in summer (June to September), much quieter off-season when the local freelance community takes over. We've done a full sweep of the area — here's our pick of 8 spots to get work done in Hossegor.

La Worquerie

Parc d'Activités Pédebert — Hossegor's premium coworking space. Founded by two local entrepreneurs, La Worquerie laid the groundwork for serious remote work in the town: an open-plan space divided into three zones, five private offices for confidential calls, a fully equipped meeting room, and a phone booth for video calls. All of it wrapped in a street-art lifestyle vibe, with a shower for those arriving post-surf and free pastries every morning. A Google rating of 5 out of 5 — that's not nothing.

Equipment-wise, it's solid: fibre, professional Wi-Fi, power outlets everywhere, large tables, guaranteed quiet. Recommended by Passion Télétravail in its top Hossegor coworking spaces ranking and by the Amélie Nollet blog on freelance remote work in the southern Landes. Rates around 220 euros per month — in line with the local average. This is where you'll run into Hossegor's freelance community: people who live here year-round and have made remote work a permanent way of life.

The go-to reference for independent workers in Hossegor — make this your first stop if you want something serious and a real community.

TANDEM Kids Club & Coworking

69 Avenue des Sabotiers, Zone Pédebert. Tandem invented a format unique in France: 16 workstations combined with childcare for kids aged 15 months to 10 years, in a soundproofed area. You drop the kids off next door, they play or are supervised, and you work in peace 10 metres away without hearing a thing. For freelance or remote-working parents, it's a godsend that barely exists anywhere else.

Equipment: fibre, fitted kitchen, garden terrace, relaxation room. Open Monday to Friday during the day. Featured by Passion Télétravail and the avril.eleven blog in their family coworking selections. Google rating of 5 out of 5. The user profile is clear: nomadic parents travelling with their kids in summer, or local freelancers who no longer want to pay for a childminder just to be able to work.

The only spot in Hossegor designed for serious work with the kids close by — guilt-free and distraction-free.

Studio Kumiko

578 Avenue de Pascouaou, Soorts-Hossegor. Studio Kumiko is the wildcard of this selection: a space that blends coworking, yoga, pilates, massages and a tattoo studio under one roof. On paper it might sound chaotic, but the place is thoughtfully designed and each area respects the rhythm of the others. High-speed connection, cosy and quiet atmosphere, open-plan or private desks.

Kumiko's idea is to stop separating work from wellbeing: you get your morning session done, roll straight into a yoga class at lunchtime, then pick up your afternoon work. Open all week with variable slots depending on activities. Listed by the tourist office and several local blogs. Affordable rates and day passes available.

For those who want their remote days to genuinely include wellbeing, without having to travel across town for a yoga class.

HEJMO Hostel

Soorts-Hossegor, halfway between the beach and the lake. HEJMO is a new-generation coliving that brings together a hostel, the El Nido bar-restaurant, and a free coworking space for 20 people on dedicated fibre under one roof. The strength of the place is its ability to mix profiles: passing tourists, surfers in for the season, digital nomads staying a few weeks, international remote workers. In July, you'll hear more English than French.

Full equipment: fast Wi-Fi, power outlets, large tables, garden terrace, heated pool, rooftop. Open year-round — a real plus in Hossegor where some places close off-season. The coworking is free for hostel guests, which creates a constant flow of interesting people to meet. Spotted by Nomad Stays and the tourist office in their coworking selections.

The go-to spot for digital nomads who want to work and live in the same place for a few days or a few weeks.

Wojo Spot Jo&Joe Hossegor

458 Avenue de Gaujacq, Soorts-Hossegor. Wojo Spot occupies part of the Jo&Joe hostel a stone's throw from the beach. The format is different from classic coworking spaces: it's a spot integrated into a living space, with a large terrace, bar, solid Wi-Fi and a constant flow of people. You work in a lively atmosphere, which can be a real breath of fresh air when you've had enough of the silence of clean-cut coworking spaces.

Equipment-wise, the Wi-Fi is solid and power outlets are accessible, but this is closer to a café with Wi-Fi than a dedicated coworking space. It's a great spot for working in lifestyle mode — grabbing a coffee, chatting with other travellers — but not for deep work that requires silence. Listed by Wojo in its remote-work holiday guide and by the tourist office.

The smart pick for short, relaxed sessions — ideal when you want to work without being locked in a strict coworking space.

Volt Café Brûlerie

147 Avenue des Charpentiers, Parc d'Activité Pédebert. Volt is Hossegor's reference specialty coffee shop. In-house roasting, fair-trade coffee, fresh pastries, careful latte art. The kind of place where the coffee alone is reason enough to visit. Outdoor terrace and easy parking — not a minor detail in a business park.

Wi-Fi is available according to several sources, though an older review says otherwise (worth checking on the day). Tables are comfortable and natural light is generous. Recommended by Wicofi in its café Wi-Fi directory and by the Amélie Nollet blog. Open during the day, closed on Sundays according to most sources. Ideal for a productive morning session plus a quiet coffee break.

A must for specialty coffee lovers who want to kick off their remote work day with a really great espresso.

SLOW Coffee Shop

261 Avenue des Rémouleurs, Zone Pédebert. SLOW is Hossegor's 100% organic, vegan and zero-waste coffee shop. Healthy atmosphere, careful décor, a short but well-considered menu. Open Monday to Saturday from 9am to 5pm. The place is smaller than Volt and the vibe is more laid-back — geared towards mornings and lunch.

Equipment-wise, Wi-Fi is available and power outlets are there, but this isn't a coworking space: if you show up in the middle of the lunch rush with your laptop, the welcome will be less obvious. Mentioned by KindaBreak in its guide to vegan spots in Hossegor and by the Amélie Nollet freelance remote work blog. Better to aim for the 9am–11am and 2pm–4pm slots to have some peace.

The right spot for remote workers who care about eating well during their breaks, in a setting that matches their values.

Villa Seren

1111 Avenue du Touring Club, Soorts-Hossegor. Villa Seren is the 4-star hotel facing the lake that had a genuinely good idea: a dedicated coworking day pass at 30 euros. You get access to professional Wi-Fi, the lounges for half-days, and lunch at the restaurant is included. The MIA room — dedicated to meetings and coworking — offers a lake view that completely changes the feel of a working day.

The setting is upscale, the quiet is total, and you get to enjoy the hotel's spa and facilities for the rest of your time. Obviously it's pricier than standard coworking spaces, but for an important client day, a team strategy session, or simply a one-off professional reset in a luxurious environment, it's unbeatable. Recommended by the Amélie Nollet blog for freelancers who want an exceptional setting.

The premium choice for a special remote work day — when you want a setting that genuinely stands out from the ordinary.
