Courbevoie is a city of two faces. On one side, the towers of La Défense and their armies of office workers. On the other, old Courbevoie with its shopping streets, markets and neighbourhood cafés. In between, a handful of workspaces that let you get work done outside your home without necessarily ending up in a corporate open-plan office on the 35th floor. Freelancers gravitating around the business district, employees working remotely who want to avoid the commute to the office, or independent workers based in the area: Courbevoie has something for you.
The city is exceptionally well connected (metro line 1, La Défense, tram T2, RER A) and offers an interesting mix of structured coworking spaces and more relaxed cafés. We've done the scouting. Here are our 8 spots for getting work done in Courbevoie.
Zecoworking
Rue de l'Abreuvoir, in old Courbevoie. Zecoworking is the pleasant surprise of the neighbourhood — all at accessible prices. The space is open 24/7 for members, giving you total freedom over your working hours. The décor is thoughtful without being flashy, with that dose of friendliness that large chain coworking spaces so often lack.
Recommended by Konfian and the Zecoworking official website. It's the kind of place where you quickly feel at home, where you end up getting to know the other coworkers and naturally come back each week.
Our favourite in Courbevoie for its flexibility and atmosphere.
Comptoir Coffee Shop Esplanade
Esplanade du Général de Gaulle, right at exit 3 of Esplanade de la Défense metro station. This café serves good coffee, homemade pastries, and has a pleasant terrace on sunny days. The atmosphere is relaxed, a world away from the corporate canteens in the neighbouring towers.
Open Tuesday to Friday, 7:30am to 4pm. It's the ideal spot for productive mornings with a good coffee in front of you, but the limited hours and weekend closure make it more of a complement than a permanent go-to.
The good morning coffee before starting the day, in a setting that breathes.
Now Smart Parc
Avenue Dubonnet, in a green setting that contrasts sharply with the concrete of La Défense. Now Smart Parc offers a bright coworking space with private offices, meeting rooms, collaborative spaces, and a garden with Wi-Fi for working outdoors. The atmosphere is calm and inspiring, far from the bustle of the business district even though you're just a few minutes away.
Solid Wi-Fi, power outlets everywhere. Open Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm. The garden is the real asset of this space: when the weather is good, being able to work outdoors with a reliable connection is a luxury you don't often find in Île-de-France.
The green coworking space, ideal when you want to breathe without leaving the city.
Niagara Café
Boulevard Saint-Denis, near the Courbevoie Hôtel de Ville. Le Niagara is a lively neighbourhood café with the atmosphere of a classic Parisian brasserie.
It's a café before it's a workspace, so no guaranteed power outlets or dedicated Wi-Fi, but the atmosphere and hours make it a good backup plan for short sessions or end-of-day work.
The lively café for working an hour or two in the energy of the neighbourhood.
Spacework
Boulevard Saint-Denis. Spacework is a functional coworking space for freelancers and small teams. Wi-Fi, power outlets, and a simple but effective setting. Open Monday to Friday, 9am to 7pm. Recommended by Konfian.
A no-fuss spot for those who want a reliable workstation without heavy commitment.
Bureaux Bécon-Les-Bruyères
Rue Edith Cavell, in the Bécon-les-Bruyères neighbourhood. An affordable coworking space for freelancers and startups in the area. Wi-Fi and power outlets are there. Recommended by Konfian. It's a practical local option if you live on the Bécon side and don't want to cross the city.
The neighbourhood coworking space for Bécon residents.
