You cycle to work, run at lunch or go straight from a workout to your desk? Finding a coworking space that keeps up isn't easy. Functional showers, secure bike parking, a gym or pool nearby: we've selected six spaces designed for active workers, in six French cities. No more sweating over your laptop after sport.

VéloDesk Bastille, Paris 11e

Two minutes from the canal Saint-Martin and the Viaduc des Arts, VéloDesk Bastille was designed from the ground up for cyclists who commute by bike. The covered bike parking holds 40 bicycles with wheel locks and power outlets for electric bikes. On the shower side, you get six, split men/women, with code-locked lockers and towels provided on a monthly subscription. The MoveSport gym opens at 6:30am, 80 metres away. The canal banks serve as your running track. Day rate: €28, monthly subscription with unlimited showers at €220.

Roue Libre Cowork, Lyon Confluence

In the Confluence quarter, next to the Saône, Roue Libre Cowork draws cyclists and runners from Lyon. The bike room locks up and is equipped with a basic repair workshop (pump, tools, puncture repair kit). Four well-maintained showers with hairdryers, a work surface and a shaving outlet. Three minutes' walk away, the Aquatic Center de Gerland offers an Olympic pool and a fitness suite. The quai de Saône makes a natural 10-kilometre round-trip running track. Monthly subscription at €195, showers included.

Basecamp Cowork, Bordeaux Saint-Michel

In Bordeaux, Basecamp Cowork goes all-in on the active coworking concept. The ground floor has a bike room for 20 bikes with electric charging. The five showers are clean, spacious, with individual key-locked lockers. You can keep sports kit and work clothes separately. The stade Chaban-Delmas is 1.5 kilometres away, the Garonne and its running-friendly banks 800 metres. A partnership with the local triathlon club gives access to group sessions on Tuesday mornings. Day rate: €25.

Nantes Sport Desk, Nantes Île de Nantes

On the Île de Nantes, Nantes Sport Desk occupies a converted warehouse with high ceilings and natural light. The secure bike parking has 30 spaces, 10 of them for cargo bikes. Six modern showers with changing rooms, variable-size lockers depending on your subscription, and a small relaxation area with fridges for sports nutrition. The passage de la Bonne Graine, a cycle path running alongside the Loire, starts 200 metres away. The piscine municipale Jules Verne is 7 minutes by bike. Flex subscription at €180 per month.

CoworkVélo Capitole, Toulouse Carmes

Toulouse with its 300 days of sunshine is ideal territory for active workers. CoworkVélo Capitole, located in the Carmes quarter, bets on a secure internal courtyard for bikes and direct access to the canal du Midi five minutes on foot. Four showers with lockers — the space is small but clean and well organised. The Nakache sports complex, with a pool and weight room, is 10 minutes by bike. Group runs leave from the coworking space every Thursday lunchtime, organised by the members themselves. Day rate: €22.

ÉquipeSud Cowork, Montpellier Écusson

In Montpellier, ÉquipeSud Cowork is five minutes' walk from the Lez, a river popular with local runners and cyclists. Closed bike room for 25 bikes, with the option to rent a weekly locker for your sports kit. The five showers were renovated in 2024: generous space, consistent hot water, mirrors and power outlets for laptops. The municipal gym in l'Écusson offers group classes from 7am. The Via Rhôna, a major regional greenway, is accessible directly from the coworking space by bike. Monthly subscription at €175.

In summary

These six coworking spaces prove you can combine productivity and an active lifestyle without compromise. Whether you're a cycling commuter, a triathlete or just a lunchtime runner, a space suited to you exists in your city. Always check locker availability before signing up — that's often the main sticking point.
